What is Monk Fruit?

Monk fruit, also known as Luo Han Guo, is a small, round fruit native to Southern China. It has been used for centuries in traditional Chinese medicine and cooking. Monk fruit is prized for its intense sweetness, derived from natural compounds called mogrosides, which are much sweeter than sugar but contain no calories. As well as, has a glycemic index of zero. This makes monk fruit a popular alternative sweetener.

 

What is Allulose?

Allulose is a low-calorie sweetener that is gaining popularity as a sugar substitute. It is a type of sugar that is naturally found in small quantities in figs, raisins, and wheat, but can also be produced commercially from corn. Allulose has a similar taste and texture to regular sugar but with only a fraction of the calories. It is about 70% as sweet as sucrose (table sugar) but with around 90% fewer calories. Additionally, allulose has a glycemic index of zero. This makes allulose a popular alternative sweetener.
